Without being the host all the food is so out of control and I don’t know what to do about it. Not only is this my first Thanksgiving since being diagnosed, it’s also my first family get together. Most of my family doesn’t even know I have Celiac let alone what it is and everything that comes along with cooking gluten free. I’m having such bad anxiety thinking about Thursday. I’m dreading it so much.
Be open and honest with them! I promise - it’s the only way to do it!
Here are some article I wrote for Thanksgiving this year - hope they help!
Went to a new doctor today. Getting tested for lots of food, flavoring, and mold sensitivities/intolerances. Also getting tested for celiac.
For the time being, she wants me to go almost completely gluten and dairy free. She said to have one serving of each a day for this week and go completely free after that.
Anyone have any tips? Things I wouldn’t normally think of?
make sure that if you’re getting tested for celiac you STAY EATING GLUTEN UNTIL THE TEST! You cannot get test results if you stop eating the food in question.
